Employment or General Agency Information:
There are numerous Internet resources you can use to find potential employment opportunities and/or general agency information. Two that offer comprehensive and non-prejudicial platforms for the advertising industry are ADWEEK and Redbooks; check them out. In particular, follow our various ADWEEK links in the menu to your left. For more selections, visit our Industry Resources page.
Sales Representation:
You may be looking for what is commonly referred to as a manufacturer's rep (rep firm), or a sales agent - rather than an actual advertising agency.
The distinction is this: an ad agency produces advertising materials and generally buys the media (print/outdoor/radio/TV) to pitch your sales message. But other than creation, production and placement of the ads, the agency doesn't get
involved in the actual transaction for your goods or services. For that, you may need someone to help you sell. If you have your own sales staff, then advertising makes sense. But if advertising is not enough by itself (it generally never is!), then you need a marketing or sales organization.
If you can't see clear to hire employees to do your selling, you'll want to explore using independent "reps." To find them, search for "manufacturers reps," "sales agents," etc. and start at this suggested link:
