Bank of the Cascades/Cascade Bancorp Case Study.

Situation. When we began working with Bank of the Cascades in 1990, the
Bank was a small, niche player in a market dominated by regional
giants. The Bank had 50 million in assets and four branches in Central
Oregon. Market share was under 10 percent.

Marketing Challenge. Our challenge was to develop and implement a
long-term plan and creative strategy to build image, increase
awareness, and position the bank as the premier financial institution
in its market for both business and consumer accounts.

Application of Solutions. The combination of corporate design, creative
image advertising and direct marketing that we have planned and managed
through the years has reaped huge dividends for the Bank and its
shareholders (stock growth has significantly out paced Microsoft.)

Using their budget wisely, we began brand-building advertising in print
and spot radio and highly targeted direct marketing only adding
television advertising in the last six years as growth permitted. The
results have been dramatic.

Results. Today, Bank of the Cascades has seventeen branches across the
State, assets of over 578 million, the leading market share in
Deschutes County, and a growing market presence in western and
southern, Oregon. In 2004, US Banker Magazine recognized Bank of the
Cascades/Cascade Bancorp as one of the top five banks in the US.
